Omega Alpha Pharma Pharmaceuticals Inc is a 100% Canadian owned company, incorporated in Ontario Canada. We opened our doors immediately after receiving our Good Manufacturing Practice license in October 1992 with the goal in mind to provide consumers with scientifically formulated natural health products manufactured using pharmaceutical standards, something no one else was doing. Thirty years ago, there were very few Canadian companies using research-based science at the heart of their practices. We are proud to be the market leader in natural health products based on science.
Our CEO and founder Dr Gordon Chang received his PhD in 1989 from the University of Toronto, Department of Physiology and Institute of Biomedical Engineering where he received a research fellowship award from The Hospital for Sick Children to research cell adhesion, biomaterials and blood material interactions. Later, as a post-doctoral fellow at the department of Clinical Chemistry at Toronto General Hospital, Dr Chang led research into antioxidants, free radical chemistry and oxidative injury.
He then established Omega Alpha Pharmaceuticals Inc in 1992 and his company has earned rewards, accolades and the enduring respect of his peers for producing innovative and efficacious herbal-based and nutritional supplements for the natural health industry.
Many companies produce herbal formulations but we manufacture supplements based on proven scientific research and testing. Our range comprises nearly 300 natural health products through 5 divisions: Consumer Health Products, Pet Health Products, Equine Health Products, Professional Naturopathic Health Products through our Alpha Science Laboratories brand and a Professional Veterinarian product through our Alpha Vet Science brand.
Our products are clinically evaluated by, and in consultation with, master herbalists, pharmacists, veterinarians, medical doctors and naturopathic doctors and produced at our 40,000 square foot facility in Toronto. We control the process from bringing the uncut raw materials in, right through to packaging and shipping. This means we maintain the high standards our customers deserve.
